Life Metabolism

Life Metabolism is a fully open access metabolism journal launched in 2022 and jointly published by Higher Education Press of China and Oxford University Press, covering basic, translational and clinical metabolic research, with a 2025 Journal Impact Factor of 6.3.《生命代谢》（Life Metabolism）是 2022 年创刊的完全开放获取代谢期刊，由中国高等教育出版社与（Oxford University Press）联合出版，覆盖基础、转化与临床代谢研究，2025 年影响因子为 6.3。

Scope

• Energy metabolism and nutrient sensing and signalling are central, from mitochondrial bioenergetics to the molecular sensors that report nutrient status.能量代谢与营养感知及信号转导是核心内容，从线粒体生物能量学到报告营养状态的分子感受器均有覆盖。
• Immunometabolism and neurometabolism address how immune cells and the nervous system reshape systemic metabolic flux.免疫代谢与神经代谢关注免疫细胞与神经系统如何重塑全身代谢流。

History

• The journal was founded in 2022 under a partnership between Higher Education Press and Oxford University Press, with OUP responsible for international publication and distribution.本刊于 2022 年由高等教育出版社与（Oxford University Press）合作创办，海外出版与发行由后者负责。
• Its opening editorial argued that metabolism sits at the junction of over-nutrition, non-communicable disease and ageing, and promised a fair, fast and transparent review process.其创刊社论指出代谢正处于营养过剩、非传染性疾病与衰老的交汇点，并承诺公正、快速、透明的评审流程。^[1]
• The launch board comprised 78 researchers from China, the United States, Australia, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark, Austria, Japan and Korea, covering the main branches of metabolic research.创刊编委会由来自中国、美国、澳大利亚、德国、意大利、瑞士、瑞典、丹麦、奥地利、日本与韩国的 78 位研究者组成，覆盖代谢研究的主要分支。
• Publication was free of charge for the first three years, after which article processing charges under the open access model began to apply.创刊前三年免收出版费，此后按开放获取模式开始收取文章处理费。
• One volume of six issues is published each year, and Volume 5 ran through 2026.本刊每年出版一卷共六期，2026 年为第 5 卷。
• It is indexed in DOAJ, Scopus, Web of Science ESCI and PubMed Central, and the 2025 impact factor of 6.3 compares with 3.4 in 2024.本刊被 DOAJ、Scopus、ESCI 与 PubMed Central 收录，2025 年影响因子为 6.3，2024 年为 3.4。

Editors

• The co-editors-in-chief are Peng Li, a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences known for work on lipid droplets and metabolic disease, and John R Speakman of the Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences.共同主编为李蓬与（John R Speakman）；前者为中国科学院院士，以脂滴与代谢性疾病研究著称，后者任职于中国科学院遗传与发育生物学研究所。
• Core deputy editors include Huang Xun of the Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology, Tiffany Horng of ShanghaiTech University and Li Xiaoying of Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University.核心副主编包括中国科学院遗传与发育生物学研究所黄勋、上海科技大学（Tiffany Horng）与复旦大学附属中山医院李小英。
