Kunming Medical University

Kunming Medical University (KMU) is a provincial public medical university in Kunming, Yunnan, China, and the largest specialised medical institution in the province.昆明医科大学位于中国云南省昆明市，是省属公立医科大学，也是云南省规模最大的专门医科院校。

Its medical programme descends from the 1933 medical class of Donglu University, became an independent college in 1956 and was upgraded to university status in 2012.学校医学教育源自 1933 年东陆大学医学专科班，1956 年独立建院，2012 年升格为医科大学。

The university runs three campuses, teaches 23,730 full-time students, and is known for clinical medicine, pharmacology and its network of affiliated hospitals across Yunnan.学校设有三个校区，全日制在校生 23,730 人，以临床医学、药理学和覆盖云南的附属医院网络见长。

History

• Donglu University, the private institution that preceded Yunnan University, was founded in Kunming in 1922 by the Yunnan military governor Tang Jiyao and was renamed Yunnan University in 1934.东陆大学是云南大学的前身，1922 年由云南督军唐继尧在昆明创办，1934 年更名为云南大学。
• In September 1933 Donglu University opened a specialised medical programme, the earliest organised medical education in Yunnan and the origin of the present university.1933 年 9 月，东陆大学开设医学专科班，这是云南最早的正规医学教育，也是今天昆明医科大学的历史起点。
