Konkuk University

Konkuk University is a private research university in South Korea, founded in 1931 by Dr. Yoo Seok-chang and today operating a main campus in Seoul and a GLOCAL Campus in Chungju.建国大学是韩国的一所私立研究型大学，1931 年由俞锡昌博士创办，如今设有首尔主校区与忠州 GLOCAL 校区。

It grew out of the Chosen School of Politics and became a comprehensive university, taking the name Konkuk, meaning "founding a nation", in 1959.该校由朝鲜政治学馆发展而来，1959 年升格为综合大学并启用「建国」之名，取「建立国家」之意。

History

• Konkuk University was founded in 1931 by Dr. Yoo Seok-chang, whose pen name was Sanghuh, out of the Central Clinic of the Community, a body he had set up to bring medical care to underprivileged Koreans.建国大学由俞锡昌博士于 1931 年创办，他号「相许」，其渊源是他在日据时期为济助贫苦民众而设立的民众中央诊疗所。
