King Abdulaziz University

King Abdulaziz University, in Arabic جامعة الملك عبد العزيز and usually shortened to KAU, is a public research university in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, founded in 1967 as a private university by a group of businessmen and named after the country's first monarch.阿卜杜勒阿齐兹国王大学（阿拉伯语 جامعة الملك عبد العزيز，简称 KAU）是沙特阿拉伯吉达的公立研究型大学，1967 年由一群商人以私立名义创办，以该国开国君主命名。

History

• The idea of founding a private university in Jeddah was first put forward in 1964 by Mohammed Ali Hafiz, and in the same year a preparatory committee of six members was formed.在吉达创办私立大学的构想由穆罕默德·阿里·哈菲兹于 1964 年首次提出，同年成立了六人筹备委员会。
