Journal of Safety Science and Resilience (JSSR) is a quarterly, fully open-access journal launched in September 2020 and published by KeAi Communications, the publishing joint venture of Elsevier and China Science Publishing, on behalf of the Institute of Public Safety Research at Tsinghua University, and it covers safety science, emergency management and resilience engineering with a 2025 Journal Impact Factor of 6.3.《安全科学与韧性（英文）》（Journal of Safety Science and Resilience）创刊于 2020 年 9 月，由爱思唯尔与科学出版社合资的科爱传播出版，依托清华大学公共安全研究院办刊，是聚焦安全科学、应急管理与韧性工程的季度开放获取期刊，2025 年影响因子为 6.3。

Scope

• The journal publishes scientific research on the practice of safety science and resilience, emphasising science and technology for natural disasters and for man-made and environmental hazards.本刊发表安全科学与韧性实践领域的科学研究，侧重应对自然灾害以及人为与环境灾害的科学技术。
• Hazard monitoring based on sensor networks, video technology and information and communication systems is one core subject area.基于传感器网络、视频技术与信息通信系统的灾害监测是核心主题之一。
• Early warning built on experiments, modelling and simulation is treated as a distinct research field.以实验、建模与仿真为基础的早期预警被视为独立的研究方向。
• Resilience analysis aimed at improving the resilience of critical infrastructure systems and communities forms a third pillar.旨在提升关键基础设施系统与社区韧性的韧性分析构成第三大支柱。
• Data analysis and evaluation of emergent events in social networks, and the optimisation of responses to accidents and disasters, complete the core scope.对社交网络中突发事件的数据分析与评估，以及对事故与灾害响应的优化研究，共同构成本刊核心范围。

• Artificial intelligence for emergency management, data mining, crowd sensing and opinion mining, prediction and decision support, emergency resource planning and scheduling, preparedness and recovery, community and urban resilience, public health emergency management, video surveillance, human behaviour in emergencies and workplace safety management are all within scope.面向应急管理的人工智能、数据挖掘、群体感知与舆情挖掘、预测与决策支持、应急资源规划与调度、应急准备与恢复、社区与城市韧性、公共卫生应急管理、视频监控、紧急情境下的人类行为以及工作场所安全管理，均属收稿范围。
• Original research papers are the primary format, and state-of-the-art reviews and first-hand case histories of accidents and disasters are also welcome.原创研究论文是主要体裁，同时欢迎前沿综述以及具有特殊意义的事故与灾害第一手案例。

History

• The journal was launched in September 2020 under the supervision of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, sponsored by China Science Publishing and Media together with Tsinghua University, with its editorial office at the Institute of Public Safety Research.本刊于 2020 年 9 月创刊，由中国科学院主管，中国科技出版传媒股份有限公司与清华大学共同主办，编辑部设在清华大学公共安全研究院。^[1]
• Hui Zhang, professor at the Institute of Public Safety Research, served as founding editor-in-chief and set the journal's initial direction towards safety science and emergency management.清华大学公共安全研究院张辉教授担任创刊主编，确立了刊物面向安全科学与应急管理的初始定位。
• From the outset the journal has been published in gold open access, with article processing charges waived during its launch phase.本刊自创刊起即采用金色开放获取模式，创刊阶段免除文章处理费。
• In 2022 the journal was included in the FMS list of high-quality management science journals, and in January 2023 it was accepted into the Ei Compendex database.2022 年本刊入选《FMS 管理科学高质量期刊推荐列表》，2023 年 1 月被 Ei Compendex 数据库收录。
• It is now indexed in ESCI, Ei Compendex, Scopus, DOAJ and CSCD, and its impact factor rose from 3.4 in 2024 to 6.3 in 2025.本刊现被 ESCI、Ei Compendex、Scopus、DOAJ 与 CSCD 收录，影响因子由 2024 年的 3.4 升至 2025 年的 6.3。
• The journal appears quarterly, in the final month of each quarter, under Chinese publication number CN 10-1656/X.本刊为季刊，于每季度末月出版，国内统一连续出版物号为 CN 10-1656/X。

Editors

• The editor-in-chief is Hui Zhang, professor and vice director of the Institute of Public Safety Research at Tsinghua University, whose research spans safety science and technology, engineering thermophysics, disaster prevention and process monitoring.主编为清华大学公共安全研究院副院长张辉教授，其研究涵盖安全科学与技术、工程热物理、灾害防治与过程监控。
• Six associate editors support the journal, among them Bin Chen of the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Danhuai Guo of Beijing University of Chemical Technology and Xinyan Huang of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.六位副主编协助主编工作，分别来自电子科技大学（Bin Chen）、北京化工大学（Danhuai Guo）与中国香港理工大学（Xinyan Huang）等机构。
