Journal of Ocean Engineering and Science is an open access journal owned by Shanghai Jiao Tong University and published with Elsevier, launched in 2016 to cover naval architecture, ocean and coastal engineering, with a 2025 Journal Impact Factor of 5.8.《海洋工程与科学》（Journal of Ocean Engineering and Science）由上海交通大学主办、与（Elsevier）联合出版，2016 年创刊，覆盖船舶与海洋、海岸工程，2025 年期刊影响因子为 5.8。

Scope

• Linear and nonlinear water waves, hydrodynamics, buoyancy, stability and fluid-structure interaction define the hydrodynamic core of the journal.线性与非线性水波、水动力学、浮性与稳性以及流固耦合，构成本刊的水动力学核心。
• Hydroelasticity, vortex-induced vibration, computational fluid dynamics, model testing and full-scale instrumentation are treated as complementary tools rather than separate fields.水弹性、涡激振动、计算流体力学、模型试验与实尺度测量，被视为互为补充的手段而非彼此分离的领域。
• Offshore technology, subsea and underwater systems, pipeline and riser design, mooring and cable dynamics, and dynamic positioning are all within scope.海洋平台技术、水下系统、管道与立管设计、系泊与缆索动力学以及动力定位，均属收稿范围。
• Ship structures, resistance and propulsion, seakeeping and control, ocean space utilisation and aquaculture engineering extend the coverage to vessel and facility design.船体结构、阻力与推进、耐波性与控制、海洋空间利用以及水产养殖工程，将覆盖范围延伸至船舶与设施设计。
• Ocean renewable energy, ocean mining and polar and Arctic engineering appear as distinct headings in the published scope.海洋可再生能源、深海采矿以及极地与北极工程，在公布的范围中列为独立条目。

History

• The journal was founded in 2016 by the School of Naval Architecture, Ocean and Civil Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, drawing on the university's ocean engineering programme.本刊于 2016 年由上海交通大学船舶海洋与建筑工程学院创办，依托该校海洋工程学科。
• It was released as a quarterly, with the first issue dated January 2016, and was published jointly by Shanghai Jiao Tong University Press and Elsevier.创刊时为季刊，首期标注 2016 年 1 月，由上海交通大学出版社与（Elsevier）联合出版。
• Jian-min Yang of Shanghai Jiao Tong University has been editor-in-chief from the outset, with Shijun Liao of the same university and J. Kim Vandiver of MIT as deputy editors.上海交通大学杨建民自创刊起担任主编，同校廖世俊与麻省理工学院的 J. Kim Vandiver 担任副主编。
• The journal entered ESCI in 2017, was accepted into SCIE in December 2020, and received a first impact factor of 3.408 for 2020, entering the first quartile immediately.本刊 2017 年进入 ESCI，2020 年 12 月被 SCIE 收录，2020 年度首个影响因子即达 3.408，直接进入第一四分位。
• By the 2021 citation report it ranked first among the sixteen titles in engineering, marine, and the impact factor then rose sharply to 11.8 for 2024 before settling at 5.8 in 2025.在 2021 年度引证报告中，本刊于船舶工程类 16 种期刊中排名第一，此后影响因子于 2024 年度大幅升至 11.8，2025 年回落至 5.8。
• The 2025 figures place it second of 26 in engineering, marine and second of 18 in engineering, ocean, with a five-year impact factor also in the first quartile.2025 年数据显示，本刊在船舶工程类 26 种期刊中列第 2，在海洋工程类 18 种中列第 2，五年期影响因子同样处于第一四分位。

• Jian-min Yang is a professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University working on floating structures, deepwater platform dynamics and ocean engineering design.杨建民为上海交通大学教授，研究浮式结构、深水平台动力学与海洋工程设计。
• Shijun Liao, a specialist in homotopy analysis methods and nonlinear wave dynamics, and J. Kim Vandiver of MIT, known for vortex-induced vibration research, serve as deputy editors.专长同伦分析方法与非线性波浪动力学的廖世俊，以及以涡激振动研究著称的麻省理工学院 J. Kim Vandiver，出任副主编。
