Journal of Molecular Neuroscience
Journal of Molecular Neuroscience (commonly abbreviated as J. Mol. Neurosci.) is a peer-reviewed monthly published by Springer Nature that carries original research advancing understanding of the molecular structure, function and development of the nervous system. It was founded in March 1989 and the 2025 impact factor is 2.4.Journal of Molecular Neuroscience(常用缩写 J. Mol. Neurosci.) [1]
Scope
The journal is committed to the rapid publication of original findings that increase understanding of the molecular structure, function and development of the nervous system. The criteria for acceptance are scientific excellence, originality and relevance to the field of molecular neuroscience.
- Emphasis on clinical relevance: manuscripts with clinical relevance are especially encouraged, since providing a means for accelerating the progression of basic research findings towards clinical application is one of the journal's stated aims. *
- Ethics requirement: all experiments involving animal or human subjects must have been approved by the appropriate institutional review committee and must conform to accepted ethical standards. *
- Article types: original research articles form the core, accompanied by mini-reviews, novel gene discoveries and an accelerated route for articles of special interest. *
- Open access: the journal is hybrid, offering authors the choice of publishing at no charge under the subscription model or paying a publication charge to make the article immediately available to readers. *
History
- March 1989: the journal was founded at Birkhäuser Boston in Cambridge, with volume 1 issue 1 appearing in March as a slim journal issued three times a year.1989 年 3 月:在剑桥的 Birkhäuser Boston 创刊,第 1 卷第 1 期于 3 月出版,早期为每年三期的薄刊。*
- The 1990s: publication began with Birkhäuser Boston and moved in 1993 to Humana Press of Totowa, New Jersey. Frequency changed to quarterly between 1993 and 1996, then rose to six issues a year from 1997.1990 年代:先由 Birkhäuser Boston 出版,1993 年起转入总部设于新泽西州 Totowa 的 Humana Press,出版频率于 1993 至 1996 年间改为季刊,1997 年起增至每年六期。*
- 1999: the journal absorbed Molecular and Chemical Neuropathology, formerly titled Neurochemical Pathology, a title founded in 1983. The merger strengthened the journal's coverage of neuropathological subjects.1999 年:吸收了原名 Neurochemical Pathology 的 Molecular and Chemical Neuropathology,后者创刊于 1983 年,此次合并使该刊的神经病理学方向选题得到充实。*
- 2004 to 2013: the journal appeared nine times a year, a frequency it maintained for some years.2004 年至 2013 年:出版频率为每年九期,是一段时期内该刊长期沿用的出版节奏。*
- 2006 and 2010: Humana Press was acquired by Springer Nature in 2006 with its imprint retained, and the journal's publishing entity formally became Springer Science+Business Media from 2010. It moved to monthly publication in 2014, and publisher information now names a Springer Nature entity.2006 年与 2010 年:Humana Press 于 2006 年被施普林格自然收购并保留其品牌,该刊的出版主体自 2010 年起正式变为 Springer Science+Business Media;2014 年起改为月刊,出版方信息如今显示为 Springer Nature 旗下实体。*
Editors
The editorial operation is small but clearly divided. Beneath the Editor-in-Chief sits an Associate Editor, and board members are grouped into subject sections covering animal models, drug discovery and neurotechnology, neurochemistry, neurogenetics and neuroproteomics, and neurochemistry with neuroimmunology and neurophysiology, each section reviewing its own remit.
- Editor-in-Chief: the Editor-in-Chief is Illana Gozes, Professor Emerita at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of Tel Aviv University and director of the Elton Laboratory, who also serves as president of the European Society for Neurochemistry. *
- Associate Editors: the Associate Editors include Yong Cheng of Minzu University of China, whose research covers mechanisms and new treatment strategies for psychological and brain disorders, basic and translational work on rare diseases, and the mechanisms by which traditional Chinese medicines act in neurological and psychiatric illness. *
