Journal of Materials Chemistry

The Journal of Materials Chemistry was an interdisciplinary materials chemistry journal published by the Royal Society of Chemistry from 1991 to 2012, when it was replaced by three separate titles, Journal of Materials Chemistry A, B and C, its final impact factor being recorded in the 2014 Journal Citation Reports（Journal of Materials Chemistry）是（Royal Society of Chemistry）于 1991 至 2012 年间出版的跨学科材料化学期刊，2013 年起被（Journal of Materials Chemistry A）（Journal of Materials Chemistry B）（Journal of Materials Chemistry C）三种独立期刊取代，其最后一个影响因子收录于 2014 年《期刊引证报告》。

Scope

• Theoretical and experimental studies that report new understanding, properties and synthesis of materials报道对材料的新认识、新性能与合成方法的理论与实验研究。
• The synthesis, structure, properties and applications of materials associated with advanced technology与先进技术相关的材料的合成、结构、性能与应用。
• Materials for energy and sustainability, the remit later taken up by Journal of Materials Chemistry A面向能源与可持续发展的材料，即后来由（Journal of Materials Chemistry A）承接的方向。
• Materials for biology and medicine, the remit later taken up by Journal of Materials Chemistry B面向生物与医学的材料，即后来由（Journal of Materials Chemistry B）承接的方向。
• Materials for optical, magnetic and electronic devices, the remit later taken up by Journal of Materials Chemistry C面向光学、磁性与电子器件的材料，即后来由（Journal of Materials Chemistry C）承接的方向。

History

• Launched in 1991 by the Royal Society of Chemistry, with the first issue of volume 1 published in January 1991该刊 1991 年由（Royal Society of Chemistry）创办，第 1 卷第 1 期于 1991 年 1 月出版。
• The journal closed to new submissions on 20 August 2012, and its last issue was volume 22, issue 48 of 2012该刊于 2012 年 8 月 20 日起停止接收新稿，最后一期为 2012 年第 22 卷第 48 期。
• From issue 1 of 2013 it was divided into Journal of Materials Chemistry A, B and C, each with its own reviewing process, editorial board, indexing and impact factor自 2013 年第 1 期起，该刊拆分为（Journal of Materials Chemistry A）（Journal of Materials Chemistry B）（Journal of Materials Chemistry C），各刊拥有独立的评审流程、编委会、索引与影响因子。

Editors

• The editorial board was chaired by Seth Marder at the time of the split, and Dongyuan Zhao of Fudan University became the first Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Materials Chemistry family拆分时编委会由 Seth Marder 主持，（Fudan University）的 Dongyuan Zhao 出任（Journal of Materials Chemistry）系列的首任主编。
• Journal of Materials Chemistry A is now led by Anders Hagfeldt of Uppsala University in Sweden, in post since 2017（Journal of Materials Chemistry A）现由（Uppsala University）的 Anders Hagfeldt 领导，2017 年起任职。
• Journal of Materials Chemistry B is led by Jessica Winter of Ohio State University, who succeeded Jeroen Cornelissen of the University of Twente（Journal of Materials Chemistry B）由（Ohio State University）的 Jessica Winter 领导，她接替了（University of Twente）的 Jeroen Cornelissen。
• Journal of Materials Chemistry C has been led by Martyn McLachlan of Imperial College London since 2025, with each title also served by associate editors and advisory boards（Journal of Materials Chemistry C）自 2025 年起由（Imperial College London）的 Martyn McLachlan 领导，各刊另设副编辑与顾问委员会。
