本刊是 1986 年由韩国医学科学院创办的英文开放获取综合性医学期刊，每周出版。

刊物面向医学各学科，发表以证据为基础的研究，尤其欢迎具有原创信息、对医学研究者有普遍意义的论文。

2025 年影响因子为 3.2，五年影响因子为 2.8，在医学综合与内科学 336 种期刊中列第 68 位，处于第一四分位。

Scope

• The journal publishes evidence-based research across the medical sciences rather than confining itself to one specialty.刊物发表横跨医学各学科的证据型研究，而不局限于单一专科。

History

• The journal was founded by the Korean Academy of Medical Sciences and issued its first number in September 1986.刊物由韩国医学科学院创办，于 1986 年 9 月出版第 1 期。
• Woo-Hyun Chang, a microbiologist at Seoul National University, was the first editor-in-chief from 1986 to 1987.首尔国立大学微生物学家 Woo-Hyun Chang 于 1986 至 1987 年担任首任主编。
• Je-Geun Chi of Seoul National University led the journal from 1987 to 1993.首尔国立大学的 Je-Geun Chi 于 1987 至 1993 年主持刊物。
