History

• The journal was founded in 1979 by the British Society for the Study of Infection, the forerunner of the British Infection Association, and was first published by Academic Press该刊 1979 年由英国感染研究学会（英国感染学会的前身）创办，最初由 Academic Press 出版。
• Its sponsoring society evolved from the British Society for the Study of Infection to the British Infection Society and then to the British Infection Association其主办学会由英国感染研究学会更名为英国感染学会，再更名为英国感染协会。
• Publishing passed through W. B. Saunders, now an Elsevier imprint, to Elsevier itself出版方历经 W. B. Saunders（现为 Elsevier 旗下品牌）而归于 Elsevier。
