Journal of Hydrometeorology

Journal of Hydrometeorology (commonly abbreviated as J. Hydrometeorol.) is a peer-reviewed journal published by the American Meteorological Society. It carries research on the modelling, observing and forecasting of processes related to water and energy fluxes and storage, including their interaction with the boundary layer and the lower atmosphere. It was founded in February 2000 and the 2025 impact factor is 3.3.Journal of Hydrometeorology(常用缩写 J. Hydrometeorol.) [1]

Scope

The journal's statement of purpose has been unchanged since the inaugural issue. It seeks to publish research related to the modelling, observing and forecasting of processes tied to water and energy fluxes and storage terms, including their interactions with the boundary layer and the lower atmosphere, and including processes related to precipitation, radiation and other meteorological inputs.

History

Editors

The journal follows the layered structure common to Society titles: a Chief Editor makes decisions, supported by seven Editors and several dozen Associate Editors, most of whom come from observing and modelling institutions directly relevant to hydrometeorology, with dedicated staff assisting the peer review process.
