• Immunology, microbiology and virology涉及免疫学、微生物学与病毒学。

History

• The journal was founded in January 1994 by the National Science Council of Taiwan, and C. C. Chang was appointed its founding editor-in-chief该刊 1994 年 1 月由台湾国家科学委员会创办，C. C. Chang 受聘为创刊主编。
• It was published in partnership with S. Karger during its early years该刊早年间与 S. Karger 合作出版。^[1]
• It moved to BioMed Central in 2009 at volume 16 and became fully open access at the same time该刊于 2009 年第 16 卷迁至 BioMed Central，并同时转为完全开放获取。^[2]
• It began as a quarterly, became bimonthly in 1996 and moved to continuous electronic publication in 2009该刊创刊时为季刊，1996 年改为双月刊，2009 年起改为电子版连续出版。

Editors

• The editor-in-chief is Wen-Chang Chang of Taipei Medical University in Taiwan现任主编为台湾台北医学大学的 Wen-Chang Chang。
• Eighteen associate editors and an advisory board of more than forty-five members support the journal, most of them based in Taiwan but with others in the United States, Japan and Europe该刊有十八位副编辑以及四十余人的顾问委员会，成员多来自台湾，也有美国、日本与欧洲的学者。
• Manuscripts are first screened by the editor-in-chief and then handled by an associate editor with at least two referees稿件先经主编初筛，再由副编辑处理，并至少送两位评审。
• Publication is open access with article processing charges covered by the National Science and Technology Council of Taiwan, and articles are published continuously on acceptance该刊为开放获取出版，版面费由台湾国家科学技术委员会承担，文章录用后即连续出版。
