Jeju National University

Jeju National University (Korean: Jeju Daehakgyo, 제주대학교) is a national comprehensive university in Jeju City, the capital of Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, South Korea.济州国立大学（제주대학교，英文常作 Jeju National University）是位于韩国济州特别自治道济州市的一所国立综合性大学。

Founded in May 1952 as Cheju Provincial Junior College, it became a national institution in 1962 and merged with the Jeju National University of Education in 2008, and it is one of ten Flagship Korean National Universities.学校于 1952 年 5 月以济州道立初级学院之名创办，1962 年转为国立，2008 年与济州教育大学合并，现为韩国十所国立旗舰大学之一。

History

• Higher education reached Jeju only after the Korean War had displaced large numbers of people to the island, and in May 1952 the provincial government opened Cheju Provincial Junior College with two-year courses for students who had previously had to travel to the mainland.朝鲜战争使大量人口迁入济州岛，1952 年 5 月济州道政府创办济州道立初级学院，开设两年制课程，此前岛内学生多须赴本土求学。
