Istanbul Technical University (Turkish: İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi), commonly called İTÜ, is a public technical university in Istanbul, Turkey, and the world's third-oldest university dedicated to engineering and the natural sciences.伊斯坦布尔理工大学（Istanbul Technical University，土耳其语：İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi，简称 İTÜ）是位于土耳其伊斯坦布尔的一所公立理工大学，也是世界上第三古老的工程与自然科学专科学院。

History

• Istanbul Technical University was founded in 1773 by Sultan Mustafa III as the Imperial School of Naval Engineering, known in Ottoman Turkish as Mühendishâne-i Bahrî-i Hümâyun, in the Kasımpaşa quarter on the Golden Horn.伊斯坦布尔理工大学由苏丹穆斯塔法三世于 1773 年创办，前身为帝国海军工程学院，奥斯曼土耳其语称 Mühendishâne-i Bahrî-i Hümâyun，位于金角湾畔的卡斯姆帕夏区。
