History

• The journal was founded in March 2010 by Harbin Institute of Technology together with Taylor & Francis, appearing as a quarterly of four issues per year from volume 1 issue 1 in March 2010该刊创刊于 2010 年 3 月，由哈尔滨工业大学与 Taylor & Francis 合作创办，自 2010 年 3 月第 1 卷第 1 期起按季刊每年出版 4 期
• The founding editorial in volume 1 issue 1 defined the aim of publishing original results, critical reviews, technical discussions and book reviews on smart and nano materials and their applications, with editorial correspondence conducted from Harbin创刊号社论明确了刊发智能与纳米材料及其应用领域原创成果、批判性综述、技术讨论与书评的办刊宗旨，编辑部通信设于哈尔滨^[1]
• Since its launch the editorial board has drawn members from more than 20 countries and regions, giving the journal a broad international coverage创刊伊始编委会即覆盖 20 多个国家和地区的学者，具有广泛的国际覆盖面
• The journal was indexed in the Science Citation Index Expanded in 2020, and its journal impact factor has risen from 4.5 in 2021 and 4.0 in 2022 to 6.6 in 2024 and 6.5 in 2025该刊于 2020 年被 SCIE 收录，其 JIF 由 2021 年的 4.5、2022 年的 4.0 升至 2024 年的 6.6，2025 年为 6.5
