• The journal was launched in 1964 by Pergamon Press, initially titled International Journal of Rock Mechanics and Mining Sciences and Geomechanics Abstracts, and it became part of the Elsevier portfolio following the acquisition of Pergamon该刊于 1964 年由培格曼出版社（Pergamon Press）创刊，初名含地质力学文摘，培格曼被收购后并入爱思唯尔期刊群。
