Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (IUH)

The Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (IUH) is a public university in Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, which grew out of a Don Bosco vocational school founded in 1956.胡志明市工业大学（Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City，简称 IUH）是位于越南胡志明市旧邑郡的公立大学，前身是 1956 年由慈幼会创办的职业学校。

It was upgraded to university status in December 2004 and now teaches engineering, technology, business, fashion, tourism and foreign languages to about 26,000 students.学校于 2004 年 12 月升格为大学，目前在工程、技术、商学、服装、旅游与外语等领域培养约 2.6 万名学生。

History

• The school was founded on 11 November 1956 by Salesian friars as a private vocational school in Hanh Thong commune, Go Vap District, then part of Gia Dinh Province outside Saigon.1956 年 11 月 11 日，慈幼会修士在旧邑郡杏通乡创办了一所私立职业学校，当时该地属西贡外围的嘉定省。

• In 1968 the vocational school was renamed Don Bosco Technical School, and in 1970 it was upgraded to Don Bosco Technical High School with a full secondary technical curriculum.1968 年学校更名为慈幼会技术学校，1970 年又升格为慈幼会技术高中，开设完整的中学技术课程。
