History
- The journal was founded in 2013 by the IEEE Computer Society with the mission of giving emerging computing areas a peer-reviewed venue before they grow into communities large enough to support dedicated Transactions, and Northeastern University professor Fabrizio Lombardi served as the inaugural Editor-in-Chief, publishing the first EIC message in volume 1, issue [1]
- Paolo Montuschi of the Politecnico di Torino served as acting Editor-in-Chief in 2019 and held the Editorship from 2021, a period in which the journal consolidated its quarterly rhythm and its position in the Journal Citation Reports都灵理工大学(Politecnico di Torino)的 Paolo Montuschi 于 2019 年出任代理主编,并自 2021 年起担任主编,其间该刊稳定为季刊并持续被期刊引证报告收录。
- From 1 January 2026 the Editorship passed to Patrick Schaumont of Worcester Polytechnic Institute for a two-year term running to the end of 2027, as confirmed by the IEEE Computer Society Board of Governors经 IEEE 计算机学会理事会确认,2026 年 1 月起主编由伍斯特理工学院(Worcester Polytechnic Institute)的 Patrick Schaumont 接任,任期两年至 2027 年底。
- The six technical tracks have been reshaped over time, and recent calls for papers foreground AI accelerators, security and privacy of emerging AI, green and autonomous systems, and quantum and non-classical computing, showing how the journal keeps pace with the computing landscape六条技术轨道随时代不断调整,近年征稿重点转向 AI 加速器、新兴 AI 的安全与隐私、绿色与自主系统以及量子与非经典计算,体现该刊对计算技术走向的持续跟进。
- In the authoritative impact factor series compiled for this project the journal impact factor declined from 7.691 in 2021 and 6.595 in 2022 to 5.4 in 2024 and 4.8 in 2025, while remaining in the second quartile of the Journal Citation Reports category Computer Science, Information Systems按本项目收录的权威影响因子数据,该刊影响因子由 2021 年的 7.691 与 2022 年的 6.595 回落至 2024 年的 5.4 与 2025 年的 4.8,最新期刊引证报告仍列其为计算机科学信息系统类第二分区(Q2)。
- The journal remains a hybrid publication supported by subscriptions and applicable article processing charges, offering both subscription and author-paid open access routes, and the National Library of Medicine catalogs it as an online-only title indexed selectively in PubMed rather than MEDLINE该刊持续采用订阅与论文处理费并行的混合出版模式,作者可选订阅模式或付费开放获取路径;美国国家医学图书馆将其著录为纯在线期刊,目前仅被 PubMed 选择性收录而非 MEDLINE 收录。
