IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation (commonly abbreviated as IEEE Trans. Antennas Propag.) is a peer-reviewed journal published by the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society, a society of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). It was founded in 1952, is currently edited by Konstantina S. Nikita of the National Technical University of Athens in Greece, and publishes twelve regular issues a year together with occasional special issues, with a 2025 impact factor of 5.9.IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation（常用缩写 IEEE Trans. Scope

The journal publishes full papers and shorter Communications on original contributions within the general topics of electromagnetics, antennas and wave propagation. Authors are required to state clearly what they consider the novelty of their work, and full papers must provide evidence that the novelty is not incremental. Manuscripts may be declined at initial screening for insufficient novelty, inadequate validation, poor presentation in English or weak citation of related work. Every manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers under a single-anonymous process, and both submission and revision are handled through the IEEE Author Portal. History

• 15 July 1949: the organisational predecessor of the journal, the Professional Group on Antennas and Propagation of the Institute of Radio Engineers, was formed. It counted around 1100 members when the journal launched and the journal was the group's principal publication from the outset. • February to December 1952: the journal was founded under the title Transactions of the IRE Professional Group on Antennas and Propagation, issuing four blue-covered numbered issues that year, PGAP-1 to PGAP-4, carrying papers from meetings held in San Francisco, Cornell, Washington and Los Angeles. • 1963: the Institute of Radio Engineers merged with the American Institute of Electrical Engineers to form the IEEE. Editors

The journal has a single Editor-in-Chief appointed by the Society. Tenures have ranged from a few months to six or seven years, and the Society regards regular changeover of the editor as a safeguard against stale judgement and a source of fresh ideas. Guest editors from within the Society community organise each special issue.
