Scope
- The magazine describes itself as a unique technology publication which is peer-reviewed, readable and substantive, and as a forum for articles that fall between the academic and theoretical orientation of scholarly journals and vendor sponsored trade publications该刊自述为一本经同行评审、易读而有实质的独特技术出版物,是介于学术期刊的学理取向与厂商资助的行业刊物之间的发文平台。
- It complements the IEEE Transactions on Robotics and the IEEE Transactions on Automation Science and Engineering, which publish the theoretical and experimental advances underpinning the science, by presenting new scientific results to the practising engineer through a focus on working systems, creative solutions to real world problems and implementation detail它与《IEEE 机器人汇刊》(IEEE Transactions on Robotics)、《IEEE 自动化科学与工程汇刊》(IEEE Transactions on Automation Science and Engineering)互补:后两者发表支撑学科的原理性进展,本刊则以在运行的系统、现实问题的创造性解法与实施细节为重心,把新科学结果呈现给一线工程师。
- Its pages carry regular technical articles, special issues managed by guest editors, tutorial articles written by leading experts in their field, survey articles on emerging themes and regular columns其内容含常规技术文章、由客座编辑主持的特刊、领域顶尖专家撰写的教程文章、新兴主题的综述文章与常设栏目。
- Special issues have addressed current topics such as space robots, underwater robots and robotics ethics, and recent volumes also gathered themed issues on embodied artificial intelligence and on arts and robotics特刊关注太空机器人、水下机器人与机器人伦理等当期主题,近几卷又组织了具身智能与机器人艺术两组专题。
- Standing columns cover education, industry news, society news, regional activity and opinion pieces, alongside features on a robot of the month, a student corner, conference calendars and reader feedback常设栏目涵盖教育、产业新闻、学会新闻、地区活动与观点文章,另有每月机器人、学生园地、会议日历与读者反馈等固定内容。
- Regular technical articles may be submitted at any time, are handled first in first out and are peer reviewed under the supervision of the magazine's associate editors, all special issue papers are reviewed as fully as regular papers, and double anonymous review has been enforced for new submissions since 1 July 2025常规技术文章随时可投、按先投先发处理,由本刊副主编主持同行评审,特刊文章与常规论文同样完整评审,自 2025 年 7 月 1 日起新投稿实行双匿名评审。
History
- The first issue appeared in March 1994 as volume 1 and carried articles such as a precise data driven component tool, a Mathematica package for robot analysis and a RISC approach to robotics1994 年 3 月出第 1 卷创刊号,刊有精确数据驱动的部件工具、用于机器人分析的(Mathematica)软件包与机器人学的精简指令集方法等文章。
- Publication has been quarterly, with issues dated March, June, September and December, and the magazine reached volume 33 in 2026该刊按季出版,每年 3 月、6 月、9 月与 12 月出刊,2026 年出版至第 33 卷。
- Its identifiers embed the publication number 100, which appears both in the earliest article identifiers of 1994 and in the about page of the magazine in the IEEE digital library该刊的标识符内嵌其出版号 100,这一号码既见于 1994 年最早文章的数字对象标识符,也见于 IEEE 电子文献库中本刊的介绍页。
- Its impact factor rose from 5.143 in 2021 and 5.229 in 2022 to 7.1 in 2024 and 9.8 in 2025, lifting it into the first quartile of robotics and of automation and control systems其影响因子由 2021 年的 5.143 与 2022 年的 5.229 升至 2024 年的 7.1 与 2025 年的 9.8,进入机器人学与自动化与控制系统两类的 Q1。
- The magazine states that it has been published continuously since 1994 and is consistently ranked among the top four robotics publications measured by impact factor该刊自述 1994 年以来连续出版,按影响因子衡量长期位列机器人类四种顶尖出版物之中。
Editors
- The editor-in-chief also sets submission policy, publishing an update to the magazine's submissions policy and guidelines in the June 2026 issue and noting the growth of the society's family of transactions beyond the two that the magazine complements主编同时负责投稿政策,2026 年 6 月号的社论更新了该刊的投稿政策与指南,并指出学会的汇刊序列已在它所互补的两份汇刊之外继续扩展。
- Frank Park has served as editor-in-chief from 2026, announcing his arrival in the editorial of the first 2026 issue and succeeding Yi Guo, whose parting message closed volume 32 at the end of 2025(Frank Park)自 2026 年起任主编,在其 2026 年首期的社论中到任致辞,接任(Yi Guo),后者的卸任文刊于 2025 年底的第 32 卷。
