History
- The IEEE Robotics and Automation Society set out the plan for a letters journal at its 2015 Town Hall, aiming to add capacity for fully reviewed journal papers(IEEE)机器人与自动化协会在 2015 年的(Town Hall)会议上提出创办快报的设想,意在扩充经过完整评审的期刊论文容量。
- Volume 1, issue 1 appeared in January 2016 and the journal has been published electronically on IEEE Xplore ever since第 1 卷第 1 期于 2016 年 1 月面世,此后一直通过(IEEE Xplore)以纯电子形式出版。
- It was designed to complement the traditional route by which robotics conference papers evolve into journal articles
- Accepted papers may be transferred to ICRA, IROS, CASE, Humanoids, RoboSoft and other RAS conferences within 270 days of acceptance录用论文可在接收后 270 天内转投(ICRA)(IROS)(CASE)(Humanoids)(RoboSoft)等协会会议宣读。
- It ran to two issues in its first year, settled at quarterly in the late 2010s, and became monthly with volume 8 in
- The Journal Impact Factor climbed from 3.6 in 2019 to 5.3 in 2025, and a final decision is guaranteed within six months of submission
Editors
- Tamim Asfour, professor at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Germany, is Editor-in-Chief and works on humanoid robotics and anthropomorphic hands现任主编为德国(Karlsruhe Institute of Technology)教授 Tamim Asfour,研究人形机器人与仿人手。
- Senior editors include Sven Behnke of the University of Bonn, Ashis Banerjee of the University of Washington and Aniket Bera of Purdue University高级编辑包括(University of Bonn)的 Sven Behnke、(University of Washington)的 Ashis Banerjee 与(Purdue University)的 Aniket Bera。
- Each paper is assigned to a senior editor, an associate editor and at least two independent reviewers
- Review is double-anonymous, and a fast revise-and-resubmit route lets the Letters Editorial Board issue the final decision
- The average time from submission to electronic publication is about four months, and special issues are opened regularly
- Authors who need it may choose open access, and the journal is indexed in SCIE and Scopus有需要的作者可选择开放获取,期刊被(SCIE)与(Scopus)收录。
