Horticulture Advances

Horticulture Advances is a peer-reviewed, fully open access journal launched in June 2023 and published by Springer Nature in partnership with Huazhong Agricultural University, covering all horticultural plants from fruit and vegetable crops to ornamental and tea plants, and its first Journal Impact Factor, for 2025, is 6.3.《园艺进展（英文）》（Horticulture Advances）是 2023 年 6 月创刊的同行评审完全开放获取期刊，由华中农业大学与施普林格·自然（Springer Nature）合作出版，覆盖果树、蔬菜、观赏植物与茶树等园艺植物，其创刊后首个影响因子（2025 年度）为 6.3。

Scope

• The journal publishes research articles, reviews, letters and commentaries on all major horticultural plants, especially fruit and vegetable crops, ornamental plants and tea plants.本刊发表关于果树、蔬菜、观赏植物与茶树等主要园艺植物的研究论文、综述、简讯与评论。
• It promotes academic exchange, innovation and interdisciplinary research on horticultural crops, providing a primary source of newly published information on horticultural science.本刊促进园艺作物领域的学术交流、创新与跨学科研究，提供园艺科学最新发表信息的一手来源。
• Theoretical studies covering genetics, genomics, development, physiology, molecular biology and evolution are highly welcomed.涵盖遗传学、基因组学、发育、生理学、分子生物学与进化的理论研究深受欢迎。
• Original studies employing cutting-edge technologies such as gene editing and bioinformatic tools are especially encouraged.尤其鼓励采用基因编辑、生物信息学工具等前沿技术的原创研究。

History

• Horticulture Advances was launched in June 2023, with its first volume appearing the same month, founded by Huazhong Agricultural University in partnership with Springer Nature.本刊于 2023 年 6 月创刊，首卷同期出版，由华中农业大学与施普林格·自然合作创办。
• The launch editorial set out the ambition to build a platform spanning the full horticultural industry chain and to support the global development of the horticulture industry.创刊社论提出打造覆盖园艺产业全链条的平台、助力全球园艺产业发展的目标。^[1]
• The founding Editors-in-Chief are Xiuxin Deng, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Ji-Hong Liu and Robert M. Larkin.创刊共同主编为中国工程院院士邓秀新、刘继红与 Robert M. Larkin。
• The journal was indexed by the Directory of Open Access Journals in its launch year, accepted for indexing by Scopus in February 2025, and included in the Emerging Sources Citation Index of the Web of Science Core Collection.本刊创刊当年即被开放获取期刊目录（DOAJ）收录，2025 年 2 月被 Scopus 接受收录，并进入 Web of Science 核心合集的新兴来源引文索引（ESCI）。
• In June 2026 the journal received its first Journal Impact Factor of 6.3, ranking 27th among 285 journals in the Plant Sciences category in Q1, and in 2026 it was selected for the Hubei Chutian Excellence Science and Technology Journal new-journal project.2026 年 6 月，本刊获得首个影响因子 6.3，在植物科学学科 285 种期刊中位列第 27 名、处于 Q1 区；2026 年入选湖北省楚天卓越科技期刊新刊项目。
• Article processing charges are fully paid by Huazhong Agricultural University from 2023 to 2026, so authors publish free of charge under a CC BY license.2023 年至 2026 年论文处理费由华中农业大学全额承担，作者可在 CC BY 许可证下免费发表。

Editors

• The Editors-in-Chief are Xiuxin Deng, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Ji-Hong Liu, both of Huazhong Agricultural University, together with Robert M. Larkin.共同主编为华中农业大学的中国工程院院士邓秀新、华中农业大学的刘继红教授与 Robert M. Larkin 教授。
• The editorial board gathers 39 experts from 13 countries, including one academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and eight highly cited researchers, with international members accounting for 54 percent.编委会汇聚来自 13 个国家的 39 名专家，包括 1 位中国工程院院士与 8 位高被引学者，国际编委占比 54%。
• The journal is also supported by 34 science editors and one full-time editor, with its editorial office hosted by the National Key Laboratory for Germplasm Innovation and Utilization of Horticultural Crops.本刊另设 34 名科学编辑与 1 名专职编辑提供支撑，编辑部依托果蔬园艺作物种质创新与利用全国重点实验室运行。
• Peer review follows a single-blind system in which reviewers know the authors while the reviewer reports stay anonymous, and manuscripts are generally assessed by two or more experts.同行评审采用单盲制度，审稿人知悉作者信息而审稿报告对作者匿名，稿件通常由至少两名专家评审。
• The median time from submission to first decision is about 4 days, and DOAJ reports an average of about 18 weeks from submission to publication.投稿至首次决定的中位时间约 4 天，DOAJ 记载从投稿到发表平均约 18 周。
