Henan University of Science and Technology is a public comprehensive university in Luoyang, Henan Province, China, and is one of the three key comprehensive universities built by the provincial government alongside Zhengzhou University and Henan University.河南科技大学是位于中国河南省洛阳市的一所公立综合性大学，与郑州大学、河南大学并列为河南省重点建设的三所综合性大学。

Its main engineering lineage reaches back to 1952, when the First Ministry of Machine Building founded the Beijing Tractor Industrial School, and the present university was formed in March 2002 by merging Luoyang Institute of Technology, Luoyang Medical College and Luoyang Agricultural College.学校的工科主脉可追溯至1952年第一机械工业部创办的北京拖拉机工业学校，现在的河南科技大学于2002年3月由洛阳工学院、洛阳医学高等专科学校和洛阳农业高等专科学校合并组建。

History

• On 7 August 1952 the First Ministry of Machine Building founded the Beijing Tractor Industrial School, which began in a former church building inside Chongwenmen and later moved to Yamenykou village in western Beijing.1952年8月7日，第一机械工业部创办北京拖拉机工业学校，校址最初设在崇文门内一座旧教堂，后迁至北京西郊衙门口村正式建校。
• The school enrolled 200 students in its first year in four specialities, tractor engineering, machining, casting and forging, all taught over a three-year programme, with Bai Yaoqing as its first president.学校首年招生200名，设拖拉机工程、机械加工、铸造、锻压4个专业，学制三年，首任校长为白耀卿。
• On 30 November 1953 it moved to Dingzigu in Tianjin and merged with the Tianjin Automobile Industrial School to form the Tianjin Automobile and Tractor Industrial School.1953年11月30日，学校迁至天津丁字沽，与正在筹建的天津汽车工业学校合并为天津汽车拖拉机工业学校。
• At the end of 1953 the merged school was renamed the Tianjin Tractor Manufacturing School, and its programmes were narrowed to tractor manufacturing and metal cutting.1953年末，合并后的学校更名为天津拖拉机制造学校，专业调整为拖拉机制造和金属切削加工。

• In the summer of 1956 the tractor students moved to the new Luoyang site as part of the First Five-Year Plan's drive to build a national industrial base, the school enrolled 713 students in Henan that August and held its opening ceremony on 14 September 1956 under the management of the First Tractor Manufacturing Factory.1956年暑假，作为第一个五年计划建设国家工业基地的一环，拖拉机制造专业学生迁往洛阳新校址，学校当年8月在河南首次招生713名，并于9月14日举行开学典礼，实际由第一拖拉机制造厂代管。
• On 30 August 1958 the Luoyang Institute of Technology was founded on the basis of the Luoyang Tractor Manufacturing School, making it one of Henan's earliest engineering schools to offer bachelor's degrees.1958年8月30日，在洛阳拖拉机制造学校的基础上创建洛阳工学院，使其成为河南省最早开展本科教育的工科院校之一。
