Gulf University for Science and Technology is the first private university established in Kuwait, legally created by Emiri Decree No. 156 in 2002 after the State had issued the Private Universities Decree No. 34 in 2000.海湾科技大学是科威特第一所私立大学，依 2002 年埃米尔敕令第 156 号完成法人设立，此前科威特国家已于 2000 年颁布《私立大学敕令第 34 号》。

History
