Guilin University of Electronic Technology

Guilin University of Electronic Technology is a provincial public university in Guilin, Guangxi, China, with electronic information technology as its leading discipline and a campus in the eastern part of the city.桂林电子科技大学是位于中国广西桂林的一所省属公立大学，以电子信息技术为优势学科，校区分布在桂林市东部。

It was founded in 1960 as Guilin Mechanical College, became Guilin Institute of Electronic Technology in 1980 and took its present name in 2006.学校1960年创办时为桂林机械专科学校，1980年建立桂林电子工业学院，2006年更名为桂林电子科技大学。

It is one of China's four electronic science and technology universities, has been co-built with the national defense industry administration since 2018 and uses the Huajiang campus at the foot of Yaoshan as its main site.学校是全国四所电子科技大学之一，2018年起与国家国防科技工业局共建，以尧山脚下的花江校区为主校区。

History

• In 1958, under China's Second Five-Year Plan, the First Ministry of Machine-Building Industry planned to train technicians and skilled workers for national industrialization, and on 12 February 1960 it ordered the creation of Guilin Mechanical College and Guilin Trade School.1958年，在第二个五年计划背景下，第一机械工业部着手为工业化培养技术人员和技术工人，并于1960年2月12日发文创办桂林机械专科学校和桂林技工学校。
• In April 1960 the ministry merged the trade school into the college during preparations, creating a secondary specialized division and a trade training division, and converted a former sanatorium in Guilin's eastern suburbs into the first campus, which kept the name Guilin Mechanical College.1960年4月，第一机械工业部在筹建阶段决定将技工学校并入专科学校，附设中专部和技工部，并将桂林东郊一处旧疗养院改作初始校舍，校名仍为桂林机械专科学校。
