Gifu University

Gifu University is a national university in Gifu City, Gifu Prefecture, Japan, founded in 1949 and tracing its roots to a teachers' training school opened in 1873.岐阜大学是日本岐阜县岐阜市的国立大学，1949 年建校，其源流可上溯至 1873 年开办的师范讲习机构。

It teaches through five faculties, namely Education, Regional Studies, Medicine, Engineering and Applied Biological Sciences, and since April 2020 has been operated within the Tokai National Higher Education and Research System together with Nagoya University.学校设教育、地域科学、医学、工学与应用生物科学五个学部，自 2020 年 4 月起与名古屋大学同在东海国立大学机构下运营，成为日本首个由同一法人同时运营两所国立大学的案例。

History

• The university dates its origins to 1873, when a training centre for elementary school teachers was opened in Gifu, a root that makes Gifu University the fourth oldest of Japan's universities by lineage.学校把起源定在 1873 年岐阜开办的小学教师讲习所，按渊源计算，岐阜大学是日本历史第四悠久的大学，但正式建校年份仍记为 1949 年。
