General Psychiatry

General Psychiatry is a bimonthly peer-reviewed open-access medical journal published by Wiley in affiliation with the Shanghai Mental Health Center, whose lineage reaches back to 1959 and which was renamed General Psychiatry in 2018 from Shanghai Archives of Psychiatry, covering the full range of topics of interest to psychiatrists and mental health professionals, with a 2025 Journal Impact Factor of 9.9《综合精神医学》（General Psychiatry）是由 Wiley 出版、与上海市精神卫生中心相关的双月刊同行评审开放获取医学期刊，其前身可追溯至 1959 年，2018 年由《上海精神医学》（Shanghai Archives of Psychiatry）更名为现刊名，覆盖精神科医师与心理健康专业人士关注的各类主题，2025 年影响因子为 9.9。

Scope

• The journal covers all topics of interest to psychiatrists and other mental health professionals internationally and welcomes original work on basic research, clinical research, community-based studies and ecological studies该刊覆盖国际精神科医师及其他心理健康专业人士关注的全部主题，欢迎基础研究、临床研究、社区研究与生态学研究方向的原创成果。
• It publishes original research, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, forums on topical issues, case reports and papers on research methods in psychiatry该刊发表原创研究、系统综述、荟萃分析、专题论坛、病例报告以及精神病学研究方法论文。
• Unlike meta-analyses in most other journals, its meta-analyses pool results from studies published in both Chinese and English, giving a distinctive view of Chinese-language evidence与多数期刊不同，该刊的荟萃分析会合并中英文已发表研究的结果，为中文文献证据提供独特视角。
• It maintains a dedicated section on Biostatistics in Psychiatry, a feature uncommon among general psychiatry journals该刊设有「精神病学中的生物统计学」（Biostatistics in Psychiatry）专刊板块，这在综合精神科期刊中较为少见。

History

• The journal traces its origin to 1959, when it was founded as the Shanghai Archives of Psychiatry, the first psychiatric journal in China该刊起源于 1959 年创刊的《上海精神医学》，是中国第一份精神科专业期刊。
• It appeared at irregular intervals in its early decades, notably during the years 1966 to 1976, was fixed as a quarterly in 1989 and moved to a bimonthly schedule in 2003该刊早年出版间隔不定（尤其是 1966 至 1976 年间），1989 年定为季刊，2003 年改为双月刊。
• To attract international submissions it began publishing in English with Chinese abstracts in 2011 and became a fully English journal in 2012为吸引国际投稿，该刊于 2011 年改为英文出版并附中文摘要，2012 年起成为全英文期刊。
• In August 2018 it was renamed General Psychiatry and was published by the BMJ Publishing Group2018 年 8 月，该刊更名为《综合精神医学》（General Psychiatry），并由（BMJ）出版集团出版。
• It was accepted into the Emerging Sources Citation Index in May 2019 and was selected into China's Excellent Science and Technology Journals programme in 2019 and again in 2024该刊于 2019 年 5 月入选（ESCI），并在 2019 年与 2024 年两度入选中国科技期刊卓越行动计划。
• Publication has since migrated to Wiley, whose Online Library now hosts the journal and to which the former BMJ web address redirects该刊的出版已转至 Wiley，其在线文库现为期刊主页，原（BMJ）网址亦重定向至此。

Editors

• The co-editors-in-chief are Zhao Min, president of the Shanghai Mental Health Center, and Xu Yifeng, director of the brain-health institute of the national centre for mental disorders主编由上海市精神卫生中心院长（Zhao Min）与国家精神疾病医学中心脑健康研究院院长（Xu Yifeng）共同担任。
• Chen Jinghong serves as executive editor-in-chief, sharing the daily editorial leadership of the journal（Chen Jinghong）任执行主编，负责期刊日常编辑工作。
• The journal was established by Xu Yifeng of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, who shaped its transformation into an international English-language title该刊由上海交通大学医学院（Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine）的（Xu Yifeng）创办，并推动其转型为国际性英文期刊。
• Its editorial office is housed within the Shanghai Mental Health Center, staffed by professional editors including native-English editing support该刊编辑部设于上海市精神卫生中心，由专业编辑团队运作，并配备英语母语编辑支持。
