Frontiers of Engineering Management

Frontiers of Engineering Management is a quarterly English-language scholarly journal supervised by the Chinese Academy of Engineering and published by Higher Education Press together with Springer Nature, launched in 2014 to advance the frontiers of knowledge and technology in engineering management and renamed ENGINEERING Management from January 2026, with a 2025 Journal Impact Factor of 9.8《工程管理前沿》（Frontiers of Engineering Management）由中国工程院主管、高等教育出版社（Higher Education Press）与（Springer Nature）联合出版，为全英文学术季刊，2014 年创刊以推进工程管理领域的知识与技术前沿，2026 年 1 月起更名为（ENGINEERING Management），2025 年影响因子为 9.8。

Scope

• The journal is dedicated to advancing the frontiers of knowledge and technology in engineering management and examines its subject from international and interdisciplinary perspectives该刊以推进工程管理领域的知识与技术前沿为宗旨，从国际化与跨学科视角审视工程管理的理论与实践。
• Its declared scope covers eight areas, namely industrial engineering and intelligent manufacturing, construction engineering and intelligent construction, energy and environmental systems, traffic engineering systems management, logistics systems and supply chain management, information management and information systems, technology and innovation management, and systems engineering theory and application其既定范围含八大方向，即工业工程与智能制造、建筑工程与智能建造、能源与环境系统、交通工程系统管理、物流体系与供应链管理、信息管理与信息系统、技术与创新管理、系统工程理论与应用。

• It is a subscription journal published in print and online with open access options for authors, and it is preserved in CLOCKSS and Portico该刊为订阅制期刊、印刷与电子两个版本并行，作者可选择开放获取发表，并由（CLOCKSS）与（Portico）保存。

History

• The first volume appeared in 2014 under Higher Education Press as publisher, and its opening page carried an essay by Song Jian on the mission assigned to engineering by human history第 1 卷于 2014 年出版，出版方为高等教育出版社，卷首页刊有（Song Jian）关于人类历史赋予工程之使命的论述。^[1]
• Also within volume 1, an essay by Ji-ming Wang set out the programme of extending the dimensions and frontiers of engineering management, a theme the journal has kept since同一卷中（Ji-ming Wang）撰文提出拓展工程管理维度与前沿的办刊纲领，此主题自创刊沿用至今。^[2]
• The journal is supervised by the Chinese Academy of Engineering and administered jointly by the Academy, Higher Education Press, Tsinghua University and the Huazhong University of Science and Technology, whose campus in Wuhan hosts the editorial office该刊由中国工程院主管，中国工程院、高等教育出版社、清华大学与华中科技大学联合主办，编辑部设于华中科技大学武汉校区。
• Its impact factor rose from 7.7 for 2024 to 9.8 for 2025 while remaining in the first quartile of industrial engineering, and the publisher recorded 134.5 thousand downloads in 2025其影响因子由 2024 年的 7.7 升至 2025 年的 9.8，始终稳居工业工程类第一四分位，出版方统计 2025 年下载量为 13.45 万次。
• From January 2026 the title was changed to ENGINEERING Management with a matching Chinese form, the registered numbers becoming 3091-5074 in print and 3091-5082 online under CN 10-2074/N, while volume numbering continued unbroken so that volume 13 issue 3 was released in September 20262026 年 1 月起刊名改为（ENGINEERING Management）、中文刊名同步调整，登记刊号改为印刷版 3091-5074、电子版 3091-5082，卷号则连续未断，第 13 卷第 3 期于 2026 年 9 月出版。

Editors

• The editorial leadership is shared by three Editors-in-Chief, Jishan He of Central South University, Chunfang Lu of China State Railway Group and Miroslaw Skibniewski of the University of Maryland, the first two being members of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the third an elected member of the US National Academy of Construction该刊由三位主编共同主持，分任主编为中南大学（Central South University）的（Jishan He）、中国国家铁路集团有限公司的（Chunfang Lu）与马里兰大学（University of Maryland）的（Miroslaw Skibniewski），前两位为中国工程院院士，第三位为美国国家建筑科学院选任院士。
• Lieyun Ding of the Huazhong University of Science and Technology, a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, serves as Executive Editor-in-Chief华中科技大学（Huazhong University of Science and Technology）的（Lieyun Ding）任执行主编，其为工程院院士。
• Three deputy Editors-in-Chief are listed, Qiao Xiang of Aero Engine Corporation of China, Xiaohong Chen of Hunan University of Technology and Business and Lan Xue of Tsinghua University三位副主编分别为中国航空发动机集团的（Qiao Xiang）、湖南工商大学（Hunan University of Technology and Business）的（Xiaohong Chen）与清华大学（Tsinghua University）的（Lan Xue）。
