Scope

• The journal publishes original and significant cutting-edge research on the chemistry of graphene and related 2D and layered materials, combining chemistry and applications in a materials context.本刊发表石墨烯及相关二维与层状材料化学的前沿原创研究，强调材料语境下的化学与应用结合。

History

• Elsevier announced the launch of FlatChem in February 2016 as a new journal in the fast-growing field of two-dimensional materials.（Elsevier）于 2016 年 2 月宣布创办（FlatChem），面向快速发展的二维材料领域。
• The first volume appeared in January 2017, and the journal has issued six volumes a year ever since, reaching Volume 60 in November 2026.第 1 卷于 2017 年 1 月出版，此后每年推出六卷，2026 年 11 月已出至第 60 卷。
• The title was born online-only and has remained electronic-only, carrying a single ISSN and no print edition.本刊自创刊即为纯在线出版，至今没有印刷版，只有一个（ISSN）。
• Authors choose between gold open access, with an article publishing charge of 3,650 US dollars, and a subscription route carrying no fee.作者可在金色开放获取与订阅两种路径间选择，前者收取 3,650 美元文章处理费，后者不收费。
