Epidemiologic Reviews

Epidemiologic Reviews (Epidemiol. Rev.) is an epidemiological review journal published by Oxford University Press on behalf of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and is also the official journal of the Society for Epidemiologic Research. Founded in 1979, it publishes reviews of epidemiological method and evidence synthesis, has been online only since 2019, and had a 2025 impact factor of 9.6.《流行病学评论》（Epidemiologic Reviews''''，缩写 Epidemiol. Scope

The journal's editorial stance is that a review must synthesise evidence: however important the topic, a paper has to integrate evidence at the level of a systematic review, meta-analysis or narrative review rather than report a single study. Originally commissioned only, it now accepts free submissions and organises each year around an annual theme. The journal is hybrid with a fully open access sister title. The publisher reports a median of nineteen days from acceptance to publication in 2025 and more than 119,000 full-text uses in 2025. History

• Founding (1979): the journal was founded in 1979 by Neal Nathanson and Philip E. Sartwell, run in its early years by Nathanson and supported by the editorial office of the American Journal of Epidemiology. It built its reputation by commissioning established epidemiologists, with topics split roughly evenly between infectious disease, other diseases and general issues common to the field.创刊（1979年）： 1979 年创刊，由（Neal Nathanson）与（Philip E. • Format and publisher: the journal became online only in 2019. Editors

The journal is run by two co-editors-in-chief, both from the Department of Epidemiology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, who took over at the end of 2024 and formally took up the posts in 2025.
