Data

Data is a peer-reviewed open access journal from MDPI in Basel, launched in 2016 and published online only, with every article released under a CC BY licence. Its two sections divide the work between methods for collecting, treating and analysing data in science and descriptions of single datasets, one to a paper. Scope

• Two sections carry the content. The Methods section takes research papers, reviews and technical notes on how data are gathered, treated, managed, stored and analysed, and supporting source code may be submitted as supplementary material.内容由两个板块承载。方法板块接收研究论文与综述，也收技术札记，讨论数据如何采集与处理，涉及管理、存储和分析，支撑工作的源码可作为补充材料提交。

• The second section publishes Data Descriptors, each covering a single dataset rather than a study that happens to rest on many of them.第二个板块刊发数据集描述，每篇只对应一个数据集，不接收建立在多个数据集之上的研究。

• Before a descriptor can appear, the dataset has to be deposited in a public repository, preferably under an open licence, and the paper must give a link to that hosted version.描述文章发表之前，数据集须先存入公开仓库，最好采用开放许可，论文还要给出这份公开托管版本的链接。

• Descriptors themselves come out under CC BY, which lets a dataset be cited, traced to its source and checked against the claims made for it.描述文章本身按 CC BY 发表，数据集因此可以被引用、追溯来源，也能对照文章给出的说法接受核查。

History

• MDPI in Basel launched the title in 2016 as a gold open access journal with no printed edition, registered under the eISSN 2306-5729, and it kept a quarterly calendar until 2020, with volume 1 holding three issues and the next four holding four apiece.MDPI 在巴塞尔于 2016 年创办该刊，按金色开放获取运作，不设印本，注册号为 eISSN 2306-5729，刊物到 2020 年一直按季刊的节奏出版，第 1 卷 3 期，其后四卷各 4 期。
