Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology

The Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology, known as DGIST and in Korean as Daegu Gyeongbuk Gwahak Gisulwon, is a public science and engineering university on the Daegu Technopolis in Dalseong County, Daegu, South Korea.大邱庆北科学技术大学（Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology，简称 DGIST；韩语：대구경북과학기술원）是位于韩国大邱广域市达城郡大邱科技园的一所公立理工科大学。

DGIST is one of the four public universities in South Korea dedicated to research in science and technology, alongside KAIST, GIST and UNIST, and it was established as a research institute in 2004 before becoming a degree-granting university.该校与 KAIST、GIST、UNIST 并列，是韩国四所专注于科学技术研究的公立大学之一，2004 年作为研究机构成立，其后发展为可授予学位的大学。

History

• Under the Special Act on Support of Scientists and Engineers for Strengthening National Science and Technology Competitiveness, the Korean government enacted the Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology Act, Act No. 6996, and established DGIST as a research institute in 2004.依据《支持科学家和工程师加强国家科技竞争力特别法案》，韩国政府制定了《大邱庆北科学技术院法》（第 6996 号法），并于 2004 年以研究院形式成立 DGIST。
