History

• The journal began in 1979 as Reviews of Infectious Diseases, a bimonthly title of the Infectious Diseases Society of America published by the University of Chicago Press该刊前身为 1979 年创刊的（Reviews of Infectious Diseases），是（Infectious Diseases Society of America）的双月刊，由（University of Chicago Press）出版。
• Its founding editor was Edward H. Kass, an infectious diseases physician who helped create the society and served as its seventh president首届主编为（Edward H. Kass），他参与创建该学会并曾任学会第七任主席。
• The title was renamed Clinical Infectious Diseases in 1992, continuing the earlier journal's volume numbering from volume 141992 年更名为（Clinical Infectious Diseases），自第 14 卷起延续原刊的卷次编号。
