City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK)

City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) is a public research university in the Kowloon Tong district of Hong Kong, and is one of the eight government-funded degree-granting institutions in the territory.香港城市大学（简称城大，CityUHK）是位于香港九龙塘的公立研究型大学，也是香港八所受政府资助、可授予学位的院校之一。

Established in 1984 as the City Polytechnic of Hong Kong and granted full university status on 25 November 1994, it is organised into twelve colleges and schools and offers more than one hundred undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.城大于 1984 年以香港城市理工学院之名成立，1994 年 11 月 25 日取得正式大学地位，现由十二个学院组成，开设一百多个本科与研究生课程。

History

• In November 1980 the Governor of Hong Kong, Sir Edward Youde, appointed a committee to review post-secondary and industrial education, which reported in June 1981 that a second polytechnic should be created to meet demand for technical and professional education.1980 年 11 月，港督尤德爵士委任一个委员会检讨香港的专上与工业教育；该委员会于 1981 年 6 月建议设立第二所理工学院，以满足对技术与专业教育的需求。
