Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) is a private Christian university in Zhongli District, Taoyuan City, Taiwan, founded in 1955 by Taiwanese and American Christian educators as Chung Yuan Christian College of Science and Engineering.中原大学（Chung Yuan Christian University，CYCU）是位于台湾桃园市中坜区的私立基督教大学，1955 年由台湾与美国基督教教育人士创办，初名中原理工学院。

It was upgraded to a full university and took its present name on 1 August 1980, and today operates seven colleges, 26 departments, 24 master's programmes and 12 doctoral programmes with more than 70,000 alumni.该校于 1980 年 8 月 1 日升格为大学并改用现名，现设 7 个学院、26 个系、24 个硕士项目与 12 个博士项目，校友超过 7 万人。

History

• In the early 1950s, as Taiwan rebuilt after the Second World War and the Chinese Civil War, a group of Christian educators proposed a science and engineering college that would combine technical training with Christian formation.20 世纪 50 年代初，台湾在第二次世界大战与国共内战后重建，一批基督教教育人士倡议创办一所结合技术训练与基督教品格塑造的理工学院。
