Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications (CQUPT) is a municipal public university in Nan'an District, Chongqing, seated on Nanshan inside the Nanshan Scenic Area and focused on information and communication engineering.重庆邮电大学（重邮）是位于重庆市南岸区的一所市属公办大学，校址坐落在南山风景区内，以信息与通信工程为特色。

Its origins reach back to a postal staff training class opened in March 1950 on the wartime site of the Ministry of Communications Postal Administration, and it became a degree-granting university in 2006 after six decades of institute-level education.学校源于1950年3月在抗战时期交通部邮政总局原址开办的邮政人员培训班，在经历六十年学院办学后于2006年更名为大学。

CQUPT is co-built by the Chongqing Municipal People's Government and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, enrols about 32,000 students and is commonly grouped with China's four postal and telecommunications universities.学校由重庆市人民政府与工业和信息化部共建，在校学生约3.2万人，通常与中国四所邮电高校并列提及。

History

• In March 1950, with Chongqing newly established as a municipality of the People's Republic, the East Sichuan Postal Administration opened a postal staff training class on the wartime site of the Postal General Administration of the Ministry of Communications.1950年3月，重庆刚刚成为中华人民共和国直辖市，东川邮政管理局在抗战时期交通部邮政总局原址开办邮政人员培训班。
• The class was reorganized in January 1951 as the Southwest Postal Branch School, which trained operators and clerks for Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou and Xikang as the new government rebuilt the southwestern postal network.1951年1月，培训班改建为西南邮电分校，为四川、云南、贵州和西康培养报务员与邮政职员，配合新政权重建西南邮电网络。
