Chongqing Medical University

Chongqing Medical University (CQMU) is a state key medical university under the Chongqing Municipal Government, with campuses in the Yuzhong district of central Chongqing and in the city's university town, and a full range of programmes from bachelor's to postdoctoral level.重庆医科大学是重庆市人民政府主管的市属重点医科大学，校区分处重庆中心城区渝中区与重庆大学城，办学层次覆盖本科至博士后。

It was created in 1956 by staff transferred from the Shanghai First Medical College, now the Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University, and was called Chongqing Medical College until it took its present name in 1985.学校 1956 年由上海第一医学院即今复旦大学上海医学院分迁来渝组建，原名重庆医学院，1985 年更名为重庆医科大学。

History

• Chongqing Medical College was established in 1956, when teachers and clinicians from the Shanghai First Medical College were moved inland to build a medical school for southwest China.重庆医学院创建于 1956 年，当时上海第一医学院的教师与临床人员奉命内迁，为西南地区筹建一所医学院。
• When the First Affiliated Hospital was created in 1957, the college already ran a paediatric hospital, and the first 100 beds of the new hospital were added inside it, with the two institutions sharing premises at first.1957 年第一附属医院成立时，学院已办有儿科医院，新医院最初即在儿科医院内增设 100 张病床，两者一度合并办公。
• The new college was built around the teachers and clinicians who moved from Shanghai, and it was named Chongqing Medical College.这所新学院以自上海迁来的教师与临床人员为骨干组建，定名重庆医学院。

• A surgical building was completed at the First Affiliated Hospital in November 2003, and in 2006 its cardiovascular branch was renamed Jinshan Hospital.第一附属医院外科大楼于 2003 年 11 月竣工，其心脑血管分院于 2006 年更名为金山医院。
