Cell and Tissue Research

Cell and Tissue Research is a professional journal in cell biology published by Springer. It was founded in Germany in 1924 under the title Zeitschrift für Zellforschung und mikroskopische Anatomie, took its present name in 1974 and has published in English only since, and marked one hundred years of publication in 2024. It is the longest running journal in this field that remains in continuous publication and is issued monthly rather than quarterlyCell and Tissue Research [1]

Editors of the journal in its earlier decades included Klaus Unsicker and Horst Werner Korf. Unsicker served as coordinating editor from 1996 until stepping down in 2024 and was a key figure in maintaining the journal's standing in neuroendocrinology该刊早期的编者包括克劳斯·温西克与霍斯特-维尔纳·科尔夫等人,其中温西克自 1996 年起担任协调主编直至 2024 年卸任,是该刊在神经内分泌学领域保持影响力的关键人物。

Scope

The subjects listed above together express the orientation of the journal. Its concern is not the isolated detail of a single molecule or a single cell, but how gene products integrate at the tissue level and shape structure and function. The combination of a tradition in tissue anatomy with molecular techniques has given the journal a readership in interdisciplinary fields such as neuroendocrinology and reproductive biology that other cell biology titles find hard to matchScope

History

The history section shows a trajectory typical of German scientific journals, in which a single fundamental change of language and positioning was made only half a century after founding. The centenary issue of 2024 is organised around the history of cell biology, indicating that the editors treat historical depth as part of the journal's scholarly standingHistory

Editors

The editors-in-chief are Dr David Kelsell and Dr Vera Kozjak-Pavlovic. Kelsell is Professor of Cutaneous Molecular Genetics and Deputy Institute Director at the Blizard Institute of Queen Mary University of London (United Kingdom), and Kozjak-Pavlovic is Associate Professor in the Department of Microbiology at the University of Würzburg (Germany). Horst Werner Korf, Professor of Anatomy at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf (Germany), also appears in an editorial capacity in the centenary issue现任主编为 David Kelsell 博士与 Vera Kozjak-Pavlovic 博士,前者是伦敦玛丽女王大学(英国)Blizard 研究所皮肤分子遗传学教授兼副所长,后者是维尔茨堡大学(德国)微生物学系副教授。 [2]
