Capital Medical University

Capital Medical University (CCMU) is a municipal public medical university in Beijing, China, founded on 12 September 1960 as the Beijing Second Medical College.首都医科大学是中国北京的一所市属公立医科大学，1960 年 9 月 12 日以北京第二医学院的名称创办。

It is affiliated with the City of Beijing, co-funded by the Beijing Municipal People's Government, the National Health Commission and the Ministry of Education, and is a key municipal university.学校隶属北京市，由北京市人民政府、国家卫生健康委员会和教育部共同建设，是北京市重点大学。

CCMU was placed in the 201-300 band of the Academic Ranking of World Universities 2026, the 1001-1200 band of the Times Higher Education ranking for 2027 and 531st in the U.S. News global ranking for 2026-2027.学校在 2026 年软科世界大学学术排名中位列第 201 至 300 名区间，在 2027 年泰晤士高等教育世界大学排名中处于第 1001 至 1200 区间，在 2026 至 2027 年度 U.S. News 全球大学排名中位列第 531 位。

History

• The university was founded on 12 September 1960 as the Beijing Second Medical College, created by the municipal government to train clinicians for the rapidly growing capital, giving Beijing a second municipal medical college alongside the existing Beijing Medical College, and it has remained under municipal control ever since.学校于 1960 年 9 月 12 日作为北京第二医学院成立，由北京市政府创办，为快速扩张的首都培养临床医生，使北京在原有北京医学院之外有了第二所市属医学院，此后学校一直由北京市管理。
