History

• The International Association for Engineering Geology was founded in 1964, and its first executive committee decided at the UNESCO Palace in Paris in May 1969 to create a journal of its own.国际工程地质协会成立于 1964 年，其首届执行委员会于 1969 年 5 月在巴黎联合国教科文组织大楼决定创办自己的刊物。
• The first issue appeared in 1970 as Bulletin of the International Association of Engineering Geology and was distributed at the first IAEG Congress in Paris in September that year.首期于 1970 年以《国际工程地质协会通报》（Bulletin of the International Association of Engineering Geology）之名出版，并在当年 9 月巴黎召开的首届（IAEG）大会上散发。
• From 1970 to 1997 it came out twice a year, 56 issues in all, and papers could be written in English or French.1970 至 1997 年间每年出版两期，共出 56 期，论文可用英文或法文撰写。
• At the IAEG Council meeting in Athens in June 1997 the association adopted the name International Association for Engineering Geology and the Environment, and the journal was renamed with it.1997 年 6 月，（IAEG）理事会在雅典决定将协会更名为国际工程地质与环境协会，期刊随之改名。^[1]
• The present title began with volume 57 in 1998, when Springer took over publication and the journal moved to four parts a year.现名自 1998 年第 57 卷启用，同年（Springer）接手出版，刊期改为每年四期。
• The number of issues rose to eight in 2019 and ten in 2020, and it now publishes twelve issues a year, volume 84 appearing in 2025.期数在 2019 年增至八期、2020 年增至十期，现为每年十二期，2025 年出版第 84 卷。
