Bioscience Biotechnology and Biochemistry
Bioscience, Biotechnology, and Biochemistry (commonly abbreviated as Biosci. Biotechnol. Biochem.) is the monthly journal of the Japan Society for Bioscience, Biotechnology and Agrochemistry, with a lineage reaching back to 1924, now published by Oxford University Press on the Society's behalf. It addresses the chemical and biological analysis of vital phenomena in animals, plants and microorganisms together with the structures and functions of their products.《生物科学、生物技术与生物化学》（Bioscience, Biotechnology, and Biochemistry，常用缩写为 Biosci. Biotechnol. Biochem.）是日本生物科学、生物技术与农业化学会（JSBBA）的机关月刊，刊脉可追至 1924 年，现由牛津大学出版社（OUP）代为出版。刊物关注动植物与微生物生命现象的化学与生物学解析，以及生物产物的结构与功能。
Scope
The journal sets its threshold at a double analysis, chemical alongside biological, and its main directions are:刊物取稿以「化学加生物学」的双重分析为门槛，主要方向包括：
- Biochemistry and molecular biology: enzymology and metabolic control, regulation of gene expression, and molecular mechanisms in microorganisms and plants.生物化学与分子生物学： 酶学与代谢调控、基因表达调控、微生物与植物的分子机制。
- Food and nutrition: functional food components, nutritional metabolism and physiological regulation, and biological evaluation of functional foods.食品与营养： 食品功能成分、营养代谢与生理调节、功能性食品的生物评价。
- Natural products and chemical biology: structural identification and structure-activity relations of bioactive substances, with synthesis and modification of natural products.天然产物与化学生物学： 生物活性物质的结构鉴定与构效关系、天然产物的合成与修饰。
- Biotechnology and enzyme engineering: industrial enzymes, fermentation and bioprocesses, molecular breeding and synthetic biology tools.生物技术与酶工程： 工业酶、发酵与生物过程、分子育种与合成生物学手段。

History
- Founding (1924): the journal began in 1924 as the Bulletin of the Agricultural Chemical Society of Japan and took the name Agricultural and Biological Chemistry in 1961.创刊（1924年）： 刊物前身为 1924 年创刊的《日本农业化学会通报》，1961 年改名《农业与生物化学》（Agricultural and Biological Chemistry）。
- Retitled (1992): the current name dates from 1992, with volume 56, reflecting the spread of the discipline from agricultural chemistry across the life sciences.改现名（1992年）： 1992 年（第 56 卷）起改用现名，以反映学科从农业化学向生命科学整体的扩展。
- Publishing history: the Society published the journal itself for decades, opened an electronic edition on J-STAGE from 1992, moved online to Taylor & Francis in 2014 and to Oxford University Press in 2021.出版沿革： 刊物长期由学会自行出版，1992 年起经（J-STAGE）平台开放电子版，2014 年转由泰勒-弗朗西斯（Taylor & Francis）在线发行，2021 年起改归牛津大学出版社。
