Biodiversity and Conservation

Biodiversity and Conservation (commonly abbreviated as Biodivers. Conserv.) is an international journal of biodiversity and conservation biology published by Springer. Founded in 1992, it publishes research on all aspects of biological diversity and its conservation and sustainable use, with a 2025 impact factor of 3.7.Biodiversity and Conservation（常用缩写 Biodivers. Scope

Scope: the journal is international and multidisciplinary, publishing articles on all aspects of biological diversity and its conservation and sustainable use. The organisms it covers are not restricted by taxon or habitat.学科定位：期刊为国际性、多学科刊物，刊载生物多样性及其保护与可持续利用各方面的论文，所覆盖的生物不限于类群与生境。
Subject coverage: it covers rapid assessment approaches, the estimation of species numbers and diversity by traditional, molecular or proxy indicator methods, habitat management, conservation policy and regulations, the threats to and loss of biodiversity, the documentation of extinctions and long-term change, and ex-situ conservation.收录主题：涵盖快速评估方法、物种数量与多样性的估计（传统、分子或指示生物方法）、生境管理、保护政策与法规、生物多样性所受威胁与丧失、灭绝与长期变化记录，以及迁地保护。
Division of labour with neighbouring fields: the journal favours studies using novel or little-used approaches and work from less studied biodiversity rich regions or habitats. Article types and open access: the journal carries reviews, research papers, editorials, commentaries and letters, and sometimes devotes whole issues to particular topics. It is a hybrid title, so subscribers read the full text free of charge and authors may opt for paid immediate open access. History

Founded in 1992: the journal was founded in 1992, its first volume and issue appearing in March of that year. The publisher at the launch was Chapman & Hall of London.1992年创刊：期刊于 1992 年创刊，第 1 卷第 1 期于当年 3 月出版，创刊时的出版方为伦敦的 Chapman & Hall。
Publisher history: Chapman & Hall published the journal until 1998, and from 1999 it was issued by Kluwer Academic Publishers of Dordrecht. Kluwer later merged into Springer, so the journal is now published by Springer Science+Business Media and forms part of Springer Nature.出版方沿革：创刊方 Chapman & Hall 出版至 1998 年，1999 年起转由设在多德雷赫特的 Kluwer Academic Publishers 出版，其后 Kluwer 并入 Springer，现由 Springer Science+Business Media 出版，并属 Springer Nature 体系。

Long service on the board: David L. Editors
