Automotive Innovation

Automotive Innovation is a quarterly English-language journal on vehicle engineering, founded in 2018 by the China Society of Automotive Engineers and published by Springer Nature, covering electrification, intelligent and connected vehicles, safety, lightweighting and manufacturing, with a 2025 Journal Impact Factor of 7.6《汽车创新工程》（Automotive Innovation）由中国汽车工程学会于 2018 年创办、施普林格·自然出版，为英文季刊，覆盖电动化、智能网联、汽车安全、轻量化与智能制造，2025 年影响因子为 7.6。

Scope

• Vehicle systems engineering and whole-vehicle integration form the outermost layer, from architecture and control to product development and engineering application整车系统工程与整车集成构成最外层板块，涵盖架构、控制、产品开发与工程应用。
• Energy saving and emissions work covers engines, transmissions, noise vibration and harshness, aerodynamics and thermal management节能与排放方向涵盖发动机、变速器、噪声振动与声振粗糙度、空气动力学与热管理。
• Electrification spans battery electric, hybrid and fuel cell vehicles, together with power batteries, electric machines and drive systems电动化方向覆盖纯电动、混合动力与燃料电池汽车，以及动力电池、电机与驱动系统。
• Intelligent and connected vehicles are treated as a full research area, including human-machine interaction, vehicular communication, driver assistance, sensors and artificial intelligence智能网联汽车单列为一个完整研究方向，包括人机交互、车联网通信、驾驶辅助、车用传感器与人工智能。
• Safety research includes active safety, passive safety and crashworthiness, while lightweighting addresses materials, structures and joining安全研究包括主动安全、被动安全与耐撞性，轻量化则涉及材料、结构与连接工艺。

History

• China SAE founded the journal in 2018 as the country's first English-language automotive academic journal, with the inaugural issue released on 30 January 2018中国汽车工程学会于 2018 年创办该刊，作为中国汽车行业第一本英文科技期刊，创刊号于 2018 年 1 月 30 日发行。
• Print and electronic editions were launched simultaneously worldwide, with Springer handling overseas distribution and hosting the online version on its platform纸本与电子版在全球同步发行，海外发行由施普林格负责，网络版在其平台上线。
• It started as a quarterly and has kept that rhythm, with four issues a year and a Beijing editorial office该刊创刊即为季刊并延续这一刊期，每年四期，编辑部设在北京。
• The journal is indexed in Emerging Sources Citation Index, Ei Compendex, Scopus and the Chinese Science Citation Database该刊被（Emerging Sources Citation Index）、（Ei Compendex）、（Scopus）与中国科学引文数据库收录。
• Its impact factor rose from 5.0 in 2024 to 7.6 in 2025, and the 2025 five-year impact factor stands at 7.2该刊影响因子由 2024 年的 5.0 升至 2025 年的 7.6，2025 年五年影响因子为 7.2。
• Publication follows a hybrid model, with subscription content alongside open access articles, of which more than a hundred have appeared该刊采用混合出版模式，订阅内容与开放获取论文并存，开放获取论文已超过一百篇。

• Jun Li, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and professor at Tsinghua University, is editor-in-chief主编为（Jun Li），中国工程院院士、清华大学教授。
