Published by Springer under a hybrid model, it appears bimonthly and is dedicated to publishing new and significant research across all fields of plant pathology.

Scope

The journal covers all fields of plant pathology, placing particular emphasis on both fundamental and applied advances in pathogen biology, disease ecology, diagnostics and disease management. Original research articles form the backbone of the journal, while method articles, reviews and comments are also accepted provided they meet the same standards of originality, importance and quality. Articles of exceptional significance appear as highlight articles accompanied by an editorial comment and are promoted through social media. [1]

In terms of distribution and readership the journal is worldwide, yet it places deliberate emphasis on consolidating its role as the major publishing outlet for plant pathology in the Australasian region. Here Australasia is interpreted in the broadest sense: it covers not only Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea but also the Indian Ocean, Pacific and Asian regions, reflecting the journal's inclusive geographical scope.
