Atmospheric Environment

Atmospheric Environment (Atmos. Environ.) is an atmospheric environment journal published by Elsevier. Founded in 1967, it was split into general topics and urban atmosphere parts in 1990 and merged back into a single title in 1994. It now appears in twenty-four volumes a year and had a 2025 impact factor of 3.8.《大气环境》（Atmospheric Environment''''，缩写 Atmos. Scope

The journal's editorial stance is to take the composition and processes of the atmosphere as its object while keeping the affected people and ecosystems in view: a study may sit at the emission, mechanistic, observational or policy end, but it must make clear where it stands in relation to air quality problems. The journal is hybrid with a gold open access charge of 3,050 US dollars, and a fully open access sister title takes overflow. History

• Founding (1967): the journal was founded in 1967, and volumes 1 to 23 (1967–1989) carry the formal title Atmospheric Environment (1967) on the publisher's issue listing. The journal is run by an executive editor for day-to-day business, with emeritus editors and a board distributed by region, a structure that matches its coverage of urban, regional and global scales.
