Applied Microbiology and Biotechnology (commonly abbreviated Appl. Microbiol. Scope
The aims stated on the journal website are to publish research on prokaryotic or eukaryotic cells, on the enzymes and proteins relevant to them, and on applied genetics and molecular biotechnology. The journal distinguishes between two kinds of contribution. Original papers are recommended at six to eight printed pages, and mini-reviews at five to six printed pages, the latter aiming to summarise critically the current state of biotechnological processes, products, microbial genomes, methods and equipment while offering perspectives. The journal also accepts methods and protocols papers, but requires their novelty and reliability to be presented concisely.该刊在栏目设置上区分两类稿件，原创论文的推荐篇幅为六至八个印刷页，小型综述的推荐篇幅为五至六个印刷页，后者以批判性地总结生物技术工艺、产品、微生物基因组、方法与设备的现状并给出前景判断为目标；同时该刊也接收方法与方案类论文，但要求新颖性与可靠性得到简明呈现
