Applied Mechanics Reviews (Appl. Mech. Rev.) is a mechanics review journal published by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Founded in 1948, it is the oldest and highest-impact review title in applied mechanics, publishes long reviews and teaching material, appears bimonthly, and had a 2025 impact factor of 19.1.《应用力学评论》（Applied Mechanics Reviews''''，缩写 Appl. Mech. Rev.''）是美国机械工程师学会出版的力学综述期刊，1948 年创刊，是应用力学领域历史最久、影响因子最高的综述刊物。该刊以刊载长篇综述与教学内容为主，现为双月刊，二〇二五年影响因子为 19.1。
Scope
The journal presents itself as the archival review title of the applied mechanics community: a contribution does not report new results of its own but assembles the progress of a field into a text later researchers can rely on, so it must both cover the literature and offer judgement about gaps. Coverage spans all the subdisciplines of applied mechanics and concentrates on:本刊的定位是「应用力学共同体的存档性综述刊物」：一篇稿件不是报告自己的新结果，而是把一个方向上的进展整理成后来者可以依据的文本，因此既要覆盖文献，也要给出判断与缺口。收文覆盖应用力学全部子学科，重点包括：

Content is largely commissioned, the journal appears six times a year, and a paper prize named for the first editor is awarded alongside it. History
- Founding (1948): the journal was founded in 1948 by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers with Lloyd Hamilton Donnell as first editor. The immediate reason was the gap in frontier reviews in applied mechanics after the Second World War, a role previously carried by a German journal创刊（1948年）： 1948 年由美国机械工程师学会创办，首任主编为（Lloyd Hamilton Donnell）；创刊的直接动因是二战后应用力学前沿综述出现空缺，此前这一角色长期由德国刊物承担，创刊卷的顾问包括（Theodore von Kármán）与（Stephen Timoshenko）。 the advisory board of the first volume included Theodore von Kármán and Stephen Timoshenko.[2]
- Numbering and volumes: the society's title history records the registration of the present print ISSN 0003-6900 as 1977, standing alongside the 1948 founding date without reconciling them编号与卷期： 学会期刊页的题名沿革将现印刷 ISSN 0003-6900 的登记年记为 1977 年，与 1948 年创刊并存而未作统一说明，两个口径指向同一连续刊物；2025 年本刊为第 77 卷。 the two figures refer to the same continuous journal. - Frequency and the prize (2014): the 1995 copyright page still records the journal as monthly, and it has since become bimonthly, though the publisher does not state the year of the change. - Publishing partnership and metrics (2026): from April 2026 the society's digital collection is operated by John Wiley & Sons, with submission and review running through its research exchange platform, while the society remains the owner. Editors
The editor-in-chief is appointed by the society, normally for a term of several years, and the copyright page also lists past editors, which is unusual among review journals. Most holders have been senior figures in American mechanics, several serving for more than a decade, which has kept the journal's direction stable.本刊由学会任命主编，任期多为数年，版权页上另列历任主编名单，这在综述刊物中并不常见。历任主编大多为美国力学界的资深学者，其中多位的任期长达十年以上，保证了刊物方向的稳定性。[3]
- Present editor-in-chief (since 2022): Yonggang Huang holds the chair.
