Annual Review of Vision Science
Scope
The Annual Review of Vision Science is an annual peer-reviewed review journal published by the nonprofit publisher Annual Reviews, covering the visual sciences across psychology, neuroscience, computer science, cell biology and genetics, and clinical medicine, with a 2025 Journal Impact Factor of 6.5《视觉科学年评》(Annual Review of Vision Science)是由非营利出版机构 Annual Reviews 出版的综述类年刊,横跨心理学、神经科学、计算机科学、细胞生物学与遗传学以及临床医学等视觉科学领域,2025 年期刊影响因子为 6.5
- The journal reviews progress in the visual sciences, a cross-cutting set of disciplines which intersect psychology, neuroscience, computer science, cell biology and genetics, and clinical medicine本刊综述视觉科学的研究进展,覆盖心理学、神经科学、计算机科学、细胞生物学与遗传学以及临床医学等交叉学科
- Its scope covers a broad range of topics and techniques, including optics, the retina, central visual processing, visual perception, eye movements, visual development, vision models, computer vision, and the mechanisms of visual disease, dysfunction, and sight restoration其范围涵盖广泛的主题与技术,包括光学、视网膜、中枢视觉加工、视觉感知、眼动、视觉发育、视觉模型、计算机视觉,以及视觉疾病、功能障碍与视觉修复的机制
- The journal explores and exposes the connections that link the study of vision to biology, behavior, computation, engineering, and medicine本刊致力于揭示视觉研究与生物学、行为、计算、工程和医学之间的内在联系
- Because vision is central to progress in many areas of science, the journal publishes only invited literature reviews that synthesize major advances and do not report original research由于视觉研究是众多科学领域进步的核心,本刊只发表受邀撰写的文献综述,综合重大进展而不刊发原创研究
- Articles capture current understanding of a topic, set the work in historical context, highlight the major questions that remain, and outline the practical applications and general significance of the research论文呈现某一主题的当前认识,将工作置于历史背景中,突出尚待解决的主要问题,并阐述研究的实际应用与总体意义
- Reviews are written to be of value to a broad audience, serving specialists, scholars from adjacent areas, teachers, and students alike综述面向广泛读者,兼顾专业研究者、相邻领域学者、教师与学生
History
- The journal was first published in 2015 by Annual Reviews, a nonprofit publisher based in Palo Alto, California, whose stated mission is to synthesize knowledge for the progress of science and the benefit of society本刊于 2015 年由总部位于加利福尼亚州帕洛阿尔托的非营利出版机构 Annual Reviews 创办,其宗旨是综合知识、促进科学进步并造福社会[1]
- Its founding co-editors were J. Anthony Movshon, Professor of Neural Science and Psychology at New York University, and Brian A. Wandell of Stanford University, who presented the journal as a cross-cutting view of a field otherwise scattered across many specialty outlets创刊共同主编为纽约大学神经科学与心理学教授 J. Anthony Movshon 与斯坦福大学的 Brian A. Wandell,二人将刊物定位为整合这一分散于众多专业刊物领域的跨学科平台
- In 2021 David H. Brainard of the University of Pennsylvania succeeded Wandell as co-editor, John H. R. Maunsell of the University of Chicago joined the editorial leadership in 2023, and from 2026 Maunsell and Farran Briggs of the National Eye Institute serve as co-editors2021 年宾夕法尼亚大学的 David H. Brainard 接替 Wandell 任共同主编,2023 年芝加哥大学的 John H. R. Maunsell 进入编辑领导层,自 2026 年起由 Maunsell 与国家眼科研究所的 Farran Briggs 共同主编
- Since 2023 the journal has been published open access under the Subscribe to Open model, and Annual Reviews reports that all volumes from 2024 onward have been published OA2023 年起本刊以(Subscribe to Open)模式开放出版,Annual Reviews 称 2024 年以来的各卷均已实现开放获取
- The journal appears once a year as a single annual volume, running from Volume 1 in 2015 to Volume 12 in 2026本刊每年出版一卷,自 2015 年第 1 卷连续出版至 2026 年第 12 卷
- Journal Citation Reports lists the 2025 impact factor as 6.5, ranking the journal seventh of 98 titles in Ophthalmology and forty-fifth of 330 in Neurosciences, both Q1, after earlier values of 6.422 (2021), 7.745 (2022), and 5.5 (2024)期刊引证报告显示其 2025 年影响因子为 6.5,在眼科学 98 种期刊中列第 7、在神经科学 330 种期刊中列第 45,均居 Q1,此前数值为 6.422(2021 年)、7.745(2022 年)与 5.5(2024 年)
Editors
- The journal is currently co-edited by John H. R. Maunsell, Albert D. Lasker Distinguished Service Professor of Neurobiology at the University of Chicago and director of its Neuroscience Institute, and Farran Briggs, Senior Investigator in the Thalamocortical Visual Processing Section at the National Eye Institute of the NIH本刊现任共同主编为芝加哥大学 Albert D. Lasker 杰出服务教授、神经科学研究所所长 John H. R. Maunsell,以及美国国立卫生研究院国家眼科研究所丘脑皮质视觉加工组高级研究员 Farran Briggs
- Maunsell studies how neuronal signals in visual cerebral cortex generate perception and guide behavior, with an emphasis on attention, while Briggs investigates how circuits between the visual thalamus and cortex encode and process visual information in health and diseaseMaunsell 研究视觉皮质神经元信号如何产生知觉并引导行为,侧重注意机制,Briggs 则研究视觉丘脑与皮质之间的回路在健康与疾病状态下如何编码与加工视觉信息
- As at other Annual Reviews titles, the journal is run by an Editorial Committee comprising co-editors, one to three associate editors, five to eight regular members, and occasional guest members与 Annual Reviews 其他刊物相同,本刊由编委会运作,设共同主编、一至三位副编辑、五至八位正式委员及客座委员
