Annals of Intensive Care

Annals of Intensive Care (commonly abbreviated as ''Ann. Intensive Care.', ISSN 2110-5820) is a top-ranked open access peer-reviewed journal in intensive care medicine and the official journal of the French Intensive Care Society (Société de Réanimation de Langue Française, SRLF). It is fully open access under a CC BY 4.0 licence, was founded in 2011, and from 1 January 2026 its publication moved from Springer Nature to Elsevier.Annals of Intensive Care（常用缩写 Ann. Scope

The journal is dedicated to advancing knowledge and practice in the care of critically ill patients, seeking to bridge basic science and clinical practice so that laboratory findings are translated into bedside strategies that improve patient outcomes in the intensive care unit. Its scope covers applied physiology of organ systems including cardiovascular, respiratory, renal and metabolic responses to acute illness, fluid therapy and the optimization of hydration, haemodynamic support and drug delivery, mechanical ventilation and its complications including the diagnosis, predictors and outcomes of ventilator-associated pneumonia, targeted aerosol therapy, and the translation of findings from biology to the bedside, organized in dedicated collections.该刊致力于推进危重患者照护的医学知识与实践，宗旨是在基础研究与临床实践之间架设桥梁，把实验室发现转化为可改善重症监护病房（ICU）患者结局的诊疗策略。收录范围涵盖应用生理学（心血管、呼吸、肾脏与代谢系统对急性应激的响应）、液体治疗（补液、血流动力学支持与给药的优化）、机械通气及其并发症（含呼吸机相关肺炎的诊断、预测因素与转归）、雾化给药等具体干预手段，以及从生物学到床旁（Biology to the Bedside）的转化研究——后者以专刊形式组织，旨在缩小实验室成果与临床实践之间的落差。^[1]

History

• Founding (2011): the journal was launched in 2011 by the French Intensive Care Society on the SpringerOpen platform, with Jean-Louis Teboul appointed Editor-in-Chief in January 2011. The first volumes carried original research and reviews addressing key challenges in acute and intensive care, with early issues covering haemodynamic monitoring and the management of sepsis.创刊（2011年）： 期刊于 2011 年创刊，由法国重症医学会在施普林格开放获取（SpringerOpen）平台下推出，Jean-Louis Teboul 自 2011 年 1 月起担任执行主编。创刊号刊载的原创研究与综述主要针对急性与重症照护中的关键挑战，早期议题涵盖血流动力学监测与脓毒症处理。

• Rapid growth: helped by its open access model and rigorous peer review, the journal gained rapid international standing within intensive care. Its impact factor rose from around 3.8 in 2017 to a peak of 10.3 in 2021, then settled at 5.5 in 2024 and 6.9 in 2025. • Standing in the discipline: the journal has ranked Q1 in the JCR category "Critical Care Medicine" for several years, and in the Chinese Academy of Sciences classification it sits in zone 1 in medicine and zone 2 in critical care medicine, flagged as a top journal of that category. • Publisher transition (2026): from 1 January 2026 the journal is no longer published by Springer Nature, and Elsevier is the new publisher. Submissions from that date are directed to a new Editorial Manager system operated by Elsevier. Editors

The journal is led by Editors-in-Chief drawn from senior clinicians in intensive care medicine, with day-to-day editorial work carried by the journal board and the boards of its topical collections.
