Anhui University of Technology

Anhui University of Technology is a public engineering-oriented university in Ma'anshan, Anhui Province, China, with roots in a steel industry school founded in 1958 and a commercial college that dates from the late 1970s.安徽工业大学是位于中国安徽省马鞍山市的一所公立工科为主的高校，其源流包括1958年创办的钢铁工业学校和1970年代末建立的商业专科学校。

The present university was created in October 2000 when the East China Institute of Metallurgy merged with the Anhui Commercial Higher Specialised School, and it is jointly supported by the Anhui Provincial People's Government and the national programme for universities in central and western China.现在的安徽工业大学于2000年10月由华东冶金学院与安徽商业高等专科学校合并组建，由安徽省人民政府管理并列入中西部高校基础能力建设工程。

It serves the metallurgical, materials, chemical and manufacturing industries of the lower Yangtze region, and its campus sits about half an hour by expressway from Nanjing and four hours from Shanghai.学校服务长江下游的冶金、材料、化工和制造业，校园距南京约半小时车程，距上海约四小时车程。

History

• In 1958, during the Great Leap Forward, the city of Ma'anshan and the provincial authorities founded the Ma'anshan Iron and Steel Industrial School to train technicians for the new steelworks on the Yangtze.1958年大跃进期间，马鞍山市与省有关部门创办马鞍山钢铁工业学校，为长江边新建的钢铁企业培养技术人员。
